Installing B2 / wordpress

Need help installing B2 / wordpress?
Here's first a insider on what you need to have web-wise and knowlege wise.. First of all, this tutorial will guide you step by step but you need to know some basic web making terms. If you still have a problem, you can email me.
NoTE: I don't think B2 is avaliable now, the substitute would be WordPress... also a blog ware

Greymatter vs. B2 Pros:
Quicker Set Up (if you know what your doing)
Cons:
Harder to edit Wordpress layout because you have to know actual PHP language in order to edit that layout.

REQUIREMENTS
  • PHP 4.1 or higher
  • you have to have MySQL version 3.23.23 or higher.. (you need to make a database just for word press)

    INSTALLATION OF WORDPRESS
  • First download the latest wordpress version from THE WEBSITE HERE (if the link does not work, I'm sure if you search on google fore 'wordpress' it will come up.
  • Unzip the file and open the file "wp-config-sample.php" with a text editor like notepad.exe .
  • Once you open the file, fill in the databases:
  • This is what the whole jumble mumble looks like at first:
  • Looks complicated right? its actually not that hard .. heres what you do: First of all you have to know three things... 1) WHAT YOUR MySQL Password is 2) What your MySQL username is 3) Whether you can make a database. Ok, so once you make a database ( which you can do by going to cpanel, and making a new database if you have one.) [tutorial coming up on that] name it a certain name, lets say you name it wordpress...
  • Next all you do is input your database name that you just named in the "YOUR-DATABASE-NAME", MySQL Username in the "YOUR-MYSQL-USERNAME", and MySQL Password into the "YOUR-MYSQL-PASSWORD".
  • then save the file as "wp-config.php"
  • Next, Upload all the file in an empty folder .. so for example, make a folder called "wordpress" and upload everything into it.
  • Next open the folder http://www...... (your website address)... /wordpress/wp-admin.php
  • If you followed all steps correctly, It sould bring you to a site which gives you the username... which is "admin" and a password that you must record down.
  • click on the login and then enter "admin" in username and put in your password.
  • you will be led into menu-ish like page where you can add entries and edit stuff.. GO TO "PROFILE" to change your password.

Lets about it, email me if you have more ques.. I'll try to answer if I can :)
